Young Man uttered on it: By ALLAH, he isn’t even worth Five Hundred Dirhams. Mahlab was blind. He heard the young man speaking this.
Once Mahlab Bin Abi Sagheera was passing by a town; one among the tribes of Hamdan. He was very well-off and a generous person. On seeing him, a young man from the town exclaimed: Is this Mahlab? People replied, yes. Young Man uttered on it: By ALLAH, he isn’t even worth Five Hundred Dirhams. Mahlab was blind. He heard the young man speaking this. At night, Mahlab kept Five Hundred Dirhams in his sleeve and went to town in his search. On inquiring, he reached his house and asked him to open the door. As door opened, Mahlab while placing Five Hundred Dirhams in front of the young man, spoke; ‘Take Mahlab’s worth. By ALLAH, Oh my nephew! If you would had valued me equivalent to Five Thousand Dinars I would had brought them to your service.
A Saint in the town heard their conversation and said, ‘By ALLAH, the one who made you the Ruler wasn’t at fault.’
ALLAH protects His servants from Dunya (World)
Hazrat Qatadah Bin Nouman (RA) narrates a Hadith of Prophet (PBUH) .“When ALLAH loves any of HIS servants HE then abstain him from Dunya as how you abstain your sick person from water whereas it tends to be harmful for him”. Benefit: Real Dunya is what which makes unmindful of ALLAH, engagement in whom would divert from the path of aakhirah (Final Destination). Therefore, those whom ALLAH loves and wants to grant them with HIS pure rewards, HE protects them from this deceased world as such we restrict our patient from water.
Three Friends of a Person: Knowledge, Wealth and Honor were three friends. Once there came the time for their departure. Knowledge said, “I could be searched out in educational institutions”. Wealth said, “I could be found in Palaces of Kings and rich people”. Honor stood silent. Knowledge and Wealth asked reason of her being silent. On taking cold breath Honor replied, “When I depart from somebody, I could never be found”.
