It is quoted by Hazrat ibn-e-Abbas (رضی اللہ عنہ), he (رضی اللہ عنہ) says that once upon a time he was sitting on a conveyance behind Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ), You (ﷺ) said: “O boy, I shall teach you a few things. And that is to always remember Allah Almighty and he shall remember you and you will find him ahead of you (meaning that you remain involved in zikr of Allah Almighty, he shall save you from sins and give you strength for doing good deeds). If you want to ask for something (from someone) then always ask from Him. And if you need help seek it from Him. And understand this that even if the whole Ummah agrees on this that they will provide you some benefit, then they will benefit you only as much as Allah has destined for you. And if the whole Ummah has agreed to hurt you and inflict loss upon you, they cannot damage you more than what Allah has prescribed for you. Because the pens have been lifted and the holy scriptures have become dry (meaning that benefit and loss has been written in your destiny) (Jaamia Tirmidhi Sharif: Baab siffat-ul-qayaamah)
