Feet are important and a useful part of human body, which bears our weight round the clock and because of which you move and accomplish your tasks. In spite of this, they probably are also the most neglected part of our body; cleanliness and care of which is least bothered about. Further cruelty is done to feet by wearing of high heeled shoes in order to match latest trends and fashion.

High heel shoes accompanied with graceful attire adds elegance to your way of walking and appear very attractive. For this reason, a great number of ladies and girls are amongst buyers of such shoes. But putting them on for long can be dangerous for your legs, ankles and feet. Almost 40% women suffer from various injuries by falling due to high heel shoes. These commonly include wrenching of legs and fractures of ankle and tibia bones.  Furthermore, how high heel shoes affect different parts of your body, let us have a look.

Excessive use of high heel shoes can be a cause of pain in neck amongst ladies as such shoes tend to disturb the natural balance of the back and which culminates as pain in the neck.

Walking with high heel shoes changes the natural shape of your body; due to which stress is caused in the middle and lower part of your back. Resultantly, ladies have to face continuous back pain.

While walking on very high heels, you tend to bend your knees a bit due to which the internal knee joints face painful stress. If this is continued for long, the internal parts of the knees can suffer irreparable damage. The same pressure squeezes the lower muscles of your calves and when you wear normal shoes, these muscles are subjected to strain.

Probably the greatest cause of ankle fractures are high heeled shoes. Fracture of any joint can increases the pain factor of joints.

Heels and toes are the biggest target of the problems caused by high heel shoes. Whenever ladies wear tightly fit shoes, they severely press the toes which results in small gnarls and callosity under fingers and toes. Tight faced shoes puts so much pressure on the central part of the feet that it can even cause dislocation of metatarsal joints. In addition, excessively high shoes supplements developing of bulges on heels and whenever they rub with shoes, becomes a cause of great pain.

All the above mentioned problems due to high heel shoes are a reality. But a few precautionary measures can reduce these risks and can help you in wearing shoes of your choice.

Always keep in mind this fact that fancy and high heeled shoes are not meant to be worn for long. Put them on shortly before any occasion prior disembarking from your vehicle and take them off immediately after the occasion is over. For this purpose always keep with you a pair of simple sandals.

If you are really fond of high heel shoes, then after purchasing new shoes, practice walking with them at home. This will help you in attaining better balance.

To avoid backache, strengthen the muscles of your belly and back. Take a deep breath and pull in your belly. Then slowly release your breath while relaxing your belly muscles to about 50%. This simple exercise will not only strengthen belly and back muscles but will also help in reducing waist.

Platform or broad heeled shoes are relatively more relaxing and you do not feel uncomfortable with them even after a long time in a party. But if their heels are excessively high, then the danger of sprain or fracture is high in case of turning of feet.

But when buying shoes, if you keep under consideration your age, build and shape of your foot, you can surely select better and comfortable shoes for yourself. Don’t buy the shoes even if they are slightly tight. Do not believe the salesman’s convincing that the shoes will loosen up after use. Usually it does not happen and the shoes remain in the same shape.

Youngsters should buy separate shoes for sports. Different types of shoes/joggers are used for different sports. It is better to consult your physician or coach prior going for any sport. Purchase such shoes which are appropriate and useful for running and working out.

Exercise and Massage for feet:  To comfort tired feet, their exercise and massaging proves very effective. For doing the same take some lukewarm water in a large and open utensil. Add a spoonful of salt into it. Then keep the feet dipped into this water for about 15 to 20 minutes. This will sooth tired feet. Furthermore, massage the feet frequently with some good oil or lotion and twist the fingers left and right.
