Halqa kashf-ul-Mahjub

Ubqari Magazine - May 2014

Every month, Hazrat Hakim Sahib teaches the world famous book, embellished with Tauheed and Risalat, “Halqa Kashf-ul-Mahjub”. A large number of readers attend this lesson. Following is the summary of nearly two hours lecture.

Thankfulness is a great blessing, the one who is blessed with this quality means that he has achieved all the goodness and virtue. Quran and Hadith have significantly described the importance of thankfulness.

I am presenting you a few selected examples:

  • The Prophet Mohammad (Sal Allahu Alayhee Wasallam) said, “Whoever does not thank people is not thankful to Allah” (Abu Daud).
  • The Prophet Mohammad (Sal Allahu Alayhee Wasallam) said, “Whoever mentions somebody’s kindness, it is as if he has paid his gratitude. (Majma-uz-Zawaid)
  •  The Prophet Mohammad (Sal Allahu Alayhee Wasallam) said, “If someone gave a favor to somebody and he mentioned it, it is as if he thanked him and if he concealed it, it is as if he was thankless”. (Abu Daud)
  • Hazrat Ali (May Allah be pleased with him) said that blessings are related to gratitude and increase of blessings is related to being thankful. Gratitude and blessings are linked together. When a person stops paying gratitude the growth of blessings also discontinues. (Abi Ibn-e-Dunya)
  • The Prophet Mohammad (Sal Allahu Alayhee Wasallam) said, “If someone is blessed with the gift of paying gratitude, he would never be deprived of prosperity, good fortune and abundance”. (Ibn-e-Merdoyah Mazhari)
  • The Prophet Mohammad (Sal Allahu Alayhee Wasallam) said, “Anyone who possesses the following three qualities Allah would protect him, bless him with appreciation and His love:

* Pays gratitude when blessed.

* Does not take revenge despite having power.

* Controls his anger and does not let it overcome him. (Tergheeb-o-Terheeb)

  • The Prophet Mohammad (Sal Allahu Alayhee Wasallam) said, “ The person who possesses four things, is destined with all the virtue  in this world and hereafter:

*A heart full of gratitude.

*A tongue that keeps praising Allah.

*A body that bears the pain with patience.

*A wife who keeps herself away from the treachery of honor and wealth. (Ibn-e-Abi Aldunya)

My Hazrat, Khwaja Sayyed Abdullah Hijveri (May Allah bless him) used to encourage the seekers for thankfulness. Whenever people came to him to relate the stories of their sufferings, he advised them to be thankful to Allah. That is why I repeatedly ask my companions to recite “thank you Allah” one hundred times in the morning and “it is thy kindness Allah” one hundred times in the evening.

1 tasbheeh ‘Ya-Allah; tera Shukar hai’ in mornings and ‘Ya-Allah; tera Ehsaan’ in the evenings.
